Title: Exploring inclination-dependent properties of self-absorbed radio jets
Abstract:
We study the dependence of the spectral characteristics of a self-absorbed jet
on the inclination angle of the jet. For this purpose, we work with a physical
model of a synchrotron emitting conical jet. We study the properties of the jet
for two cases, magnetic field parallel and perpendicular to the jet axis. In
this talk, I will present my results based on this jet model. We find that the
core position for a particular frequency is closer to the base of the jet for
small inclination angles and moves farther away from the base at larger angles.
We also find that the spectra of the jet is flat/inverted for small inclination
angles but is unable to retain this self-absorbed property of the jet at larger
angles.
